The art of success: Planning, Organization, Direction and Control
Having a good management will definitely guide your project towards the achievement of your objectives.
Surely, at some point you have had the responsibility of managing a project or a business, or you may even be doing it right now. But you don't see the results you expect and you notice that you are on your way to failure. All this is avoidable and even improvable, and not necessarily with magic tricks, but with pillars that you should always take into consideration to make success knock on your door.
Perhaps many do not know it but my profession is a degree in administration, it is what I studied at the university, therefore all administrative issues are part of my day-to-day and I try as much as possible to apply everything I have learned to both my work and to anything else I do. I found in this career a wide field of action and also that it is applicable to practically everything, for example, on the web3.
PLANNING
The big question that arises here is WHAT TO DO?
In a few words, here the action route is devised, defining objectives and goals. It is a very important stage since uncertainty is reduced and improvisation is eliminated when projecting the future of the company and analyzing current factors that could hinder future development.
Whatever your project is, it is not exempt from technological, economic, and social changes, so it is highly recommended that you make the effort to start this process, later you will see how important it is to follow it and how easy it will make the job for you.
ORGANIZATION
The next question that arises is HOW TO DO IT?
If you already defined objectives and goals in the planning stage, here is the time to structure how you will achieve them, following the phases of identifying, classifying, grouping, and assigning the functions. Therefore, it is essential that you have a working group formed, so that all responsibilities are distributed in such a way that each one knows what they should do and how what they do helps the entire project in a global sense.
One of the most important steps in this stage is to establish mechanisms that integrate all the activities and that will allow reviewing the effectiveness of the process, which is linked to another of the stages that will be explained later.
DIRECTION
Already at this point, it is time to say "LET IT BE DONE"
As you may have already realized, all the stages are connected, and this is no different because if the planning and organization are not accompanied by a correct direction, time will be lost and there will be chaos.
In the organization stage, you defined your work team; at this stage you need a leader, because that person will be responsible for ensuring that what is planned is fulfilled, motivating and communicating with all those involved, thus achieving smooth operation of the entire process.
CONTROL
At this stage, the question arises HOW WAS IT DONE?
In a general sense, the steps of this phase can be encompassed as follows:
Evaluate and analyze the results obtained.
Identify problems and take necessary action.
It should be noted that although it can be seen as the last phase of the entire process, it is best to make use of it during all phases so that it will improve step by step where it needs to be improved. And you will save a lot of time.
The advantages that following this process can give you are many, to summarize I could name the following:
Helps optimize resources.
Allows you to develop competitive strengths.
Increases productivity levels.
Helps strengthen the work environment.
And the one that we all look for, guides us to achieving our objectives.
These stages are the backbone of project management, providing the framework for the entire project life cycle. This structure is important because it allows you to integrate a series of functions that give your project the structure and momentum necessary to achieve its objectives, as well as provide support for its stability and future growth.
Tell me, do you apply them? Do you find them relevant?
